James Benthem, Ph.D., L.P. Dr. Benthem has 12 years experience as a staff psychologist at Pine Rest Christian Hospital and four years as a professor at Calvin College. He established specialty services at Pine Rest in anxiety disorders, behavioral medicine, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) children. He is currently providing assessment and specialty programs in each of these areas in addition to his treatment of a broad range of problems. Steve Osborn, Ph.D., L.P., BCFE Dr. Steve Osborn has a Ph.D. degree in psychology from the Union Institute of Professional Psychology, specializing in both clinical and forensic psychology. He is a licensed psychologist who has worked in the mental health field since 1976. He is a board certified forensic psychologist, Diplomate of the American Board of Psychological Specialties and Fellow of the American College of Forensic Examiners. He has received certification in clinical hypnosis from the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, certification from the International Board of Child Psychotherapists and registration through the Association of Play Therapy. Dr. Osborn stays current with the latest research findings and integrates contemporary science with wisdom gained from years of working with individuals, couples, families, and groups in psychiatric hospitals, correctional environments, residential facilities, emergency rooms, group and foster care homes, schools, nursing homes, and outpatient offices. He has taught college psychology classes for Western Michigan University, Northwest Michigan College, and Monroe County Community College. His model of psychological evaluation and treatment is eclectic or multi-modal utilizing empirically supported treatments with a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship. He has received training from some of the notables in the field, including: BF Skinner, JR Kantor, Donald Michenbaum, Jay Haley, Cloe Madanes, Carl Whittaker, Salvador Minuchin, Milton Erickson, James Masterson, Albert Ellis, Marsha Linehan, Clark Moustakus, and Jeffrey Zeig. He has presented at conferences locally, state-wide, and nationally. Approximately one-half of Dr. Osborn’s practice is with children and adolescents, and one-half with adults. He has expertise in the evaluation and treatment of the various developmental disabilities, autism and aspergers, attention deficit disorder, learning disabilities, mood and anxiety disorders, dissociative and post-traumatic stress disorders, thought disturbance, personality disorders, behavioral disturbances, alcohol and drug problems, work-related stress, and relationship issues. Dr. Osborn’s forensic practice has focused on custody work and other issues related to the best interests of the child, civil competency, evaluation (risk assessment) and evaluation and treatment of sexual offenders, victims of sexual abuse, domestic violence, and parental fitness. He has been qualified as an expert witness in a number of jurisdictions. |

Wilmar Vander Pol, Ed.,D., L.P. Dr. VanderPol has been in the mental health field since 1984. He presently has offices both in Grand Rapids and in Cadillac. Prior work experiences include 18 years of teaching high school English in Michigan and in New Jersey. His practice includes individual, group, and marital therapy. Areas of special interest are life stages and transitions, grief work, anxiety, stress management, sexual abuse recovery, men's issues, trauma treatment, and compulsive gambling. |

Patti Findley, M.A., L.L.P. Patti is a Counseling Psychologist with extensive experience in assessment and diagnosis of mental/ emotional problems. She works with adolescents and adults, providing individual and family counseling. She has special interest in counseling with women, including teens, who are experiencing distress in their relationships or have concerns about other life adjustments and transitions. She and her husband James Findley, Ph.D., jointly provide marriage preparation and marriage enrichment programs. |

Michelle Morse, M.A., L.P.C Michelle provides therapeutic services to children, adolescents and adults. Michelle has over 20 years experience working with family issues including domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse and neglect. Other areas of interest include body image issues, anxiety, depression, stress, grief, divorce adjustment, relationship and parenting issues, behavior management and other traumatic life experiences. Michelle is a Certified Trauma Consultant. |

Alicia Mannes, M.A., L.P.C. Alicia has worked as a substance abuse counselor with Catholic Human Services and as a grief counselor with Hospice of Michigan. For the past six years she has been a chaplain associate with Workplace Chaplains. Alicia has a special interest in working with women and adolescents. Some of her specialties are grief and loss, addiction, self harm, spiritual and faith struggles, and suicide prevention. She enjoys working with individuals as well as providing group counseling. Alicia is committed to providing quality counseling for the mind, body, and spirit. |
